# New capability - Hiding items in visualization menus

Developers embedding Qlik Sense can now hide specific items in visualization menus to create a more focused user
experience, without relying on CSS workarounds.

When you configure which items should appear in the menu, only those turned on will be shown.
New items added in future Qlik releases will be hidden by default and must be manually turned on.
